All satsumas are tangerines. Tangerine is the type of fruit, and satsumas and pixies, among others are tangerines. It's like the difference between valencia oranges and navel oranges-- the're both members of the orange family.

I'm not sure the difference in a tangerine and a satsuma, but I'm quite sure there is no difference in a tangerine and a tangerine.
; )~ I actually wondered this myself, I used to work in a greenhouse and we sold fruit trees, people asked me this and I never knew!

I'm from the south and I love satsumas----in Ca. I get free tangarines--the difference---The seeds.
