If you really care about the environment, you have to go vegetarian. Meat production causes extensive pollution and is a huge drain on our resources. It even causes more pollution than these SUVs people always complain about. It is also easy to become meat free and much kinder to animals. Meat is no longer needed as a food source as many other kinder options exist. In fact, most meat sold today is in the form of stuff like hamburgers and hot dogs and is bad for your health. The only real reason to eat meat is for entertainment and the animals pay the price for our entertainment as they are abused and slaughtered. It is hypocritical to say you care about the environment and love animals while eating meat.

The reason that people still eat meat knowing most animals suffer is because they are so far removed from any kind of farming. If all meat eaters were responsible and good people, they would only eat from organic slow growing local farms, where the animals do not suffer, grow up naturally and aren't pumped full of hormons.

I ask this sometimes, yet i am a meat eater. I even imagine animals serving humans everyday for lunch. Unfortunately, meat is good, not only in taste but in protein. We NEED it in our system, and it sucks that we have to have an animal suffer, but I think that in some weird way , animals are to provide us with protein. If you notice most of the meat we eat, comes from animals that are in 'plentiful' amounts. In other words they are not going extinct. I know that doesn't mean its right or make it excusable. I don't know why animals are made into food, but don't feel too bad, cause in my opinion, humans suffer even more, and some people even eat their own species. I don't see a chicken eating a chicken or a cow eating a cow. That's the way of the world, and I know that if humans didn't need to, we wouldn't eat another life. Its like when a lion eats a deer, its how the cycle works, survival.

"If we didn't kill the animals, there would be overpopulation of them. I do agree animals should not be mistreated , but you need meat to live."
This is very incorrect. Although humans do hunt to lower populations of wild animals, farm and factory raised animals are in a state of overpopulation because we do kill them for food. You also do not "need" to eat meat to live.
Anyway. People purchase meat still purchase meat becuase they don't know or don't care about "animal suffering".
I still eat meat, its tasty, but in moderation. We are omnivorous creatures. We can eat meats and plants, but as plants are cheaper to produce and cause less damage to our bodies and the environment we ideally should eat more of them.
Besides, pasta is delicious.

My best friend's brother did a study in college, and it's conclusion is that plants feel pain. They suffer when you eat them. And Yogurt is still alive when you eat it!
It's the way of life. People are so far removed from farms and nature that they ask questions like yours when they think about food. (and it's usually the 'Naturalists') Life feeds on Life.

Unfortunately it has been on a "man's menu" since the very very beginning, so I don't see how that is gonna change. Personally I do eat all kinds of meat but I respect people that don't.

Your an idiot! Do you grow your own food? Do yo know how many small animals are killed or mammed in the production of grains and wheat? If you were for real, you would grow your own.

God put the animals on this earth for us to have dominion over them. He did not make them just for ornamental use only. They do serve a purpose...to eat in moderation.
