Why do so many people say that Christmas is a religous holiday and its not..it doesnt mark the birth of jesus..it was adapted on dec 25 to go along with pagen feasts to get them into the fold of Christianity.and of giving it was a Bishop in the 1500's giving away his fortune (huh a bishop with a fortune) im just trying to get some reasons why?

Dude...you really gotta lay off the pipe and go back and re-take History 101.

It was in A.D. 350, that December 25 was declared the official date for celebrating Christmas by Pope Julius I. I know you'll have to take off your shoes and socks to count this high....but that's a 1,200 year spread in your historical facts.

How often have you celebrated your birthday ON your birthday? Does it matter if Christ's birthday is celebrated on His birthday? Also, it was done on a pagan holiday to allow an easy transition to Christianity from paganism. Is that wrong? I don't care how many people want to sell Christmas as a non-religious holiday but the way it is celebrated was influenced by Christian themes.

So, Now its about Jesus. I don't care if any catholics stole the tradition, I am celebrating Jesus birth, life, death and ressurection. Happy Christmas!!
