I have a cage built into my living room for my scarlet macaw and there are tons of little fruit flyes in there! What is the best way to get rid of them? I clean her cage out everyday and there still there!

Cider vinegar, mixed with a little sugar (small bowl) it attracts them, the cider affects them (makes them drunk or something) and they fall in the liquid and drown. I used to work in a deli and that's how we kept them off the food.

I had a bunch of fruit flys also and what I did was buy raid foggers, they come in 3 packs at Walgreens for 10 dollars, I stayed gone for a few hours and they were all dead when I returned.

Take a jar and put some food scraps (veggies or fruit skins) in it, cover it with foil or suran wrap, poke about 6 or 8 holes in it with a toothpick. They will find their way in but can't get out.

Place a glass of some type of sweet clear liquid (juice, wine, sprite) near the cage and they will get in it and drown.
