and when all those ranting protestors get together, we carpet bomb the **** out of them?
Then get all those military vehicles out of there and send in a thousand sniper teams. Any dude that comes out of his hut with an AK47 gets nailed. Have helicopters ready on call to lift the snipers from one place to another, when they've made a "hit" so as to not get spotted.
Everyone else goes home. We can keep that action going for fifty years. Practically no military casualites and no "innocent" civilain deaths. Also doesn't tear up property. We can even claim it is not us that's doing it.
We also could parachute in a new BMW for every adult Iraqi. Then put them to work building freeways. They couldn't get out and bomb things cause thy'ed be stuck in traffic.
Also, statistics show that people who drive new BMW's don't bomb stuff. What, some guy is going to make a car bomb out of his new BMW..forgetabout it.
We might spray all the protestors green, then t shoot green guys.

The problem with that is that many of the rallies over there are peaceful, so there's really nothing wrong with them. We keep an eye on them, but we cannot, and should not bomb them for peaceful assembly.
Also, everyone over there has an AK-47. They're allowed to have them. They are not allowed RPG's or things of that nature, but AK's are OK.
I'm glad you have no power to do things of this sort, but I am saddened that you thought it was a good idea to actually put this on the internet. Do you realize that Iraqis can view what you have just said, and use it to "prove" to the others that all Americans want to kill Iraqis. Do you think that Iraqis don't put out propaganda like every other fighting force does? Congradulations, you just made their job easier, I hope you feel better about yourself!

Get over it, the Iraqi Insurgents are not in the mind-set of coming into the open. Perhaps you want an easy war? There will never be an easy war to speak of, no matter how much technology you have, the more you demonstrate military might, the more people come to resent you. They'll rebel in silent ways and in most cases fund the people who you speak of.
If you are looking for a way to defeat them, there is no way, since guerrilla warfare is completely unstoppable if properly employed, since there is nothing to strike against that does not create more anger and distrust in the country you have upset.

Everyone looses sight of the obvious... the Iraqi people are not one people with one voice. Historically speaking, Iraq came into existence with the merger of three provinces for the ease of British rule following the fall of the Ottoman empire. These three provinces represent the three factions fighting one another for power today, the Shiites, the Sunnis, and the Kurds. The Shiites gain some support from Iran. They therefore tend to me anti-American although they are thankful we liberated them from Saddam. The Sunnis are aligned with Arabs (such as Saudi) and tend to be allied somewhat with the US, but with their own agenda. The Kurds, however, are very pro-west like their kurdish neighbors in Turkey, and in fact, greatly assisted us in our liberation of Iraq from Saddam. They are strong allies that we owe a debt to for the risk they took in assisting us.
We need to open our eyes to the fact that treating these people the same is not realistic. I think Iraq should return to it's pre-WW1 borders of three territories and allow each faction the power to self-govern they crave. Perhaps then the incentive to fight will diminish.

I like it. You know, chemical warfare would leave all combatants dead, with minimal if any damage to the surrounding area.
Just saying...
