Well, we don't NEED a god. The human race (in general) just seems to enjoy the idea of one, and, from this enjoyment, has become more reliant on such a being than necessary, considering the lack of evidence.

I guess people just like to believe in a god because it a) provides a sense of safety/comfort (afterlife), b) gives answers for that which cannot be completely explained (creation of life and the universe), and c) helps unite people together (even though they end up being united against other religions).

Honestly, I'd rather rely on scientific evidence than a god that has none to back it up. I think humans (in general) dislike the possibility of being the highest life-form anywhere (aliens are still controversial, even though I believe that there is probably some extraterrestial life out there somewhere), so they just make one up.

Very good question.

Lets see here, I am a drinking smoking maniac... but I will tell you this, weather you think you need Him or not, He is there. Weather you just use Him for a crutch, or just to curse at, He is there. Weather you believe in Him or not He is there. Weather... you get my point yet...

I have tested questioned and all that for my whole life, and I see nothing out there to say He doesn't exsist. Do I need Him? No. Do you need him? Maybe. Are we alone? NO! And do you sterio type Christians? I sure as hell hope not cause I have met some that are not the way you poeple are making them sound.

We have to believe in God because only humans can recognize tha Lord. Now I know I am simian, but simians are the same as humans, thus a parall effect. Again, only humans can recognize God, hence a reason to believe. No other animal can recognize the Lord save the simian, hence the human attributes found in the Bible. Take to heart what you need.

Where there is no acknowledgement God, life is meaningless, it has no purpose. Believing that God exists immediately brings purpose to anyone's life.
What happens when you die? Is that the end of everything? A big black hole? Or is there something more?
Have you ever wondered why people tend to glorify something? Athletes? Musicians? Money/Greed? Themselves? Idols/Statues?
Have you ever wondered why people think they're invincible? It'll never happen to me...Live life to the full...If it doesn't kill you it only makes you stronger..?

We were created by God to worship him.
We are living in eternity now. It's kinda like being back-stage before the show starts.
Where are you going when you die?

Nothing has changed but the reason we need God is that He created us needing Him. Without Him something is always missing. We are always looking we say if I just had a mate and then a house, car, drugs ect... with nothing providing the sustenance we receive when we commune with the Lord.

people need a god because don't like to face the futility of life, as well as the fact that there is no one guiding them through life, and no one ensuring that everything will be ok. most use the idea of god as a justification of their actions, and hope that in believing and worshipping god they will receive some sort of afterlife reward. naturally, this is an absurd assumption, when you die, you die. However, for many, it is better than facing the truth.

Some people need to feel there's a God, or a higher power of some sort, in order to feel complete. Others don't, and are comfortable with us being "on our own".

Tis a personal choice, and all are acceptable as long as we don't force our opinions on each other.

Personally? I think we're all a part of God. We're all connected to each other, to everything around us, to God, all of it.

Althoug we don't NEED a god, the reason somepeople do need a God is because without a God, or anything to believe in for that matter, there would be no reason to... be. Even if you are an atheist, you still believe in something,(i.e. you believe ther eisn't a god) just not god.Its human nature, we have to belive in something to feel that we have a purpose in life... without something to believe, we will belive that there is no reason to live.

Ho doubt. Christians have been saying for CENTURIES that the supposed god will return...well...if he hasn't retuned in 2000 years, it looks like he might be a no-showto the party.

We need a god so that the weak minded can have a crutch to lean on and so they don't have to use logic and reasoning. Religion is nothing more than a scape goat for the weak minded.
