I have secured it with a bar that came with the fireplace, back they are still loose. I think it should be a heat resistant grout of some sort, or I've heard it could be plaster of paris I've to use.

You could try fire cement as this is heat resistant, or you can get high temperature sillicone?,

Depends how exposed to the heat they are.
Normal tile grout should be fine as long as not in direct contact with the fire.
Haven't come accross any fire grout for tiles before only for sealing woodburners etc.
Plaster surrounds/mouldings for fires are stuck just by wetting them up an dont have any problems with the heat.

When the grouts gone off it'll be fine.

Consider an adhesive caulking material to get them to stick and then follow-up with grout material.
