A bacterial disease is caused by small usually unicellular organisms that creates a toxic by product that make you sick. Your body then finds them and destroys them. A virus is different and much more stubborn. A virus infects a host cell in your body and injects its DNA into that cell causing a mutation in the host cell DNA which intern cause the host cell to make copies of the virus once all the copies are made the cell is destroyed and the new viruses are free to infect more cells. It is hard for the body to kill viruses because the virus is in the host cell and the body wont kill cells that are supposed to be there it doesn't see the virus in the cell.

There isn't treatment for viral infection. Bacterial infection is identified and can be treated with proper medication for whatever infection it is.

this is just a real basic answer, a bacteria infection is cause by bacteria in the body and can usually be killed with an antibiotic such as penicillin. a viral infection is caused by a virus, which attaches to good cells and reproduces and takes a different type of medicine to kill.

viral is caused by a virus and there's nothing you can do about it....just let it run it's course. Bacterial is caused by bacteria in the system and can be fought off with antibiotics.
