Sacrifice..... sacre "sacred" facere "to make"
by definition, "to make sacred"
The ancients of EVERY faith used to burn or destroy things so that their chosen deity could 'partake' of this. Burning was usually the preferred method as the smoke rose up into the heavens. Some things did not burn well, and so just destroying it was usually good enough.

When Jesus died on the cross, God turned his back on him. God couldn't stand to see the sin that Jesus took upon himself. Can anything be more painful than knowing you will die, and your own Father won't even look at you.
Jesus went to hell and back for us. If that's not an appropriate sacrifice, I don't know what is.
Do you remember why this whole event happened? Sure, we suffer a bit, even get tortured and killed. The reward is far greater than a little bit of pain here on earth.
We get to spend eternity in Heaven with our Lord, the Alpha and Omega, our Creator, our Father, our Lover, our Saviour...
Sorry, I get really excited about it. Shouldn't we be rejoicing and worshipping him for what he has done?

The agony of the cross was nothing special.
What was special is that He took the punishment for the sins of all people on Himself on the cross. He, who was perfect, who never sinned once in any way, did not have to die. But that we could have eteral life with Him, He was the "atonement" for our sins (written about throughout the Old Testament)
He suffered Hell, total abandonment from His Father who sent Him into the world for the purpose of redeeming people. He "finished" His task.
Mark 15:31-34
31 In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law mocked him among themselves. "He saved others," they said, "but he can't save himself! 32 Let this Christ, this King of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe." Those crucified with him also heaped insults on him.
33 At the sixth hour darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour. 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"-which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
(from New International Version)
John 19:30
30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
(from New International Version)

'twasn't -- the only part of a sacrifice meant for God is the aroma. It didn't take place on the altar nor in the Temple as prescribed in Leviticus. Pain and suffering was, and still is, to be avoided. All sacrifices were killed in the most humane method possible, as is all food prepared for Jews to this day!

The crucifixion of Christ replaced right into a real sacrifice to God the daddy. contained in the early circumstances, before Christ, the Jewish human beings would sacrifice animals to God for the remission of their sins. yet their movements did not chuffed God. So, God the daddy despatched His Son, Jesus Christ to Sacrifice himself for the remission of all mankind's sins. Jesus Christ, knew what He had to do and He did it for the choose of God the daddy. it truly is the hot eternal Convent for most, in this Earth. The Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, to God the daddy, is performed on the Holy Mass; on a daily basis in the course of the international.

We sound a little bitter. It wasn't the crucifixtion that was important,it was the taking on of the sins of the world #1,which was the repugnant part for Him,#2 The Bible says without the shedding of blood there can be no remission of sin. That was the important part.A perfect blood sacrifice to wipe away our sins.He already was God before He took on human flesh ,but as Phillipians states "Although He thought it not robbery to be equal to God ,He emptied Himself for our sakes".
He limited His knowledge and depended on the Father to guide Him.Read Hebrews 12 ansd 13 .He did it for the joy that was to be set before Him.(Knowing that we could be saved).
He didn't go through it to get rewarded, like I said He already was God the Son.He did it for us.
The faithful receive eternal life and what ever else rewards they pick up.What should Hitler get?

If you read you'll see that all our pain and sorrow all that ever was and will be was His to bare as well. He was appropriate as He was perfect and unblemished. He is one with God so He will rule at His right hand. It is not less torture than the damned. The damned will cease to exist and be no more.

the bible says without the shedding of blood there is no salvation. God wants all to come to the knowledge of the truth. It is our choice if we accept His sacrifice or not. If you are worried about the torture that the damned will receive the only way you will not be apart of that is to accept Christ's sacrifice. It is by grace you have been saved through faith. ACCEPT IT BY FAITH!!

A person who is to be sacrificed would take hours to disassemble since the human body is so complex. Because of that, I would rather be a sacrifice on the cross than be laid down and stabbed. Systematically speaking, if I die on the cross, my body is left intact, wheras being laid on the altar would cause the priests to cut ever single part right down to the toe, thus wasting their time and that of everyone else. The cross is perfect for human sacrifice since it is used among altars.

He was arrested the night before His execution. The torture started right away, so it was excruciating for more that just a few hours. The reason His crucifixion was appropriate was not in the method of execution, but because of His innocence. Not only was he not guilty of the charges against Him, but he was not guilty of any sin. This fact alone makes Him worthy, and not you or me.
