Dear _____,
I'm writing to tell you something that you most likely already know. I love you. I love you more than anything or anyone. I'm so sorry that I could never show my feelings. I just didn't know how. And when you and [[his girlfriend]] got together, I felt like an absolute failure. Over these past few months, it has become more difficult to endure all the pain that has come to me. I know that it is all my fault for not telling you the truth, but I also feel like you never even gave me a chance. Now, I feel like an idiot because I never had the heart to tell you in person. Believe me, [[boy's name]], I tried so many times, but then I realized that you and [[his girlfriend]] would be better off together. Anyways, I know it seems very dumb to tell you all of this in a letter and not in person. But, I am just so stressed right now and I feel like I have no other choice. So, please forgive me for my stupidity. [[continued in further details]]

My main concern is finding out how you felt in the beginning, and how you feel now. I really don't want this to ruin our friendship. That would simply kill me. Don't worry. I've learned that I can handle much more now, a lot more than I could before. I am willing and ready to face the truth, and soon move on, just as long as this will not devastate our friendship.
Much love,
[[my name]]

Beautiful, just plain Beautiful!!!
From beginning to end!...girl let me tell you, if women around the world had this much courage, bravery, and guts to finally step up to the plate without letting anyone, or anything stop them from what they truly believe, feel, and stand for....wow we women would pretty much rule in a man's world!!!!
I think that what you've written here is fresh, clean, and perfect. You are not saying much, and you are not saying little. You just cut to the chase here and let him know the truth....you never know sweetie, maybe just maybe, this guy friend of yours might also been waiting for a "miracle" to happen, and your letter just might be "it"...God Bless You!

It's all good but something like that deserves to be told face to face. If you and him are best friends then this is something that should be talked about in each others company not in a letter this way you can really explain and let him see how serious you are about still being his friend and actions speak louder then words lol

That is the nicest letter ever, I know what it feels like to be under stress, pressure and intimidation by someone I love, I would love to just copy your letter and send it right off! I think he'll like it, you'll just have to hope its enough to win him over! The girl I'm after is so good at hiding her feelings, I dont know what'd make her take me by doing the sweetest thing for her, so I wouldnt know what to do, I say o the letter, he'll love it, I hope so!

I would NEVER send a letter like that to a guy. You should flirt a little (not too much) and see what his response is. Your letter is also self-defeating (you call it "very dumb" and mention you're "an absolute failure) and shows low self esteem.
Please do not send it. I think it will backfire.

You put yourself down so much in this letter. Why? You call yourself stupid and and idiot, and put most of the blame on you. You shouldn't give it to him. He already has a gf. You should just move on and find someone who wants to be with you.

Try this letter:
I love you, I've been in love with you, Your better off with [girlfirend], I value our friendship and want you in my life so much, I don't want to risk losing you if we don't make it as a couple. [explain what traits you admire]
