According to Amnesty International, more than 200 citizens have died after being tasered by the police. Many critics of tasers argue that tasers are being used on citizens very often and they are not being used as a last resort. In some cases, the police have tasered young children, senior citizens and citizens that have been sleeping. Type in the word "taser" on google, then search the news section and you will finf out that tasers are bing used to liberally on citizens.

NO, THEY ARE AN AWESOME TOOL. Since officers in my state began carrying tasers shootings are way down, injuries to suspects are way down, injuries to officers are way down, lawsuits are way down, and complaints are way down. In fact, a lot of known bad characters who always fought or ran from the police have always gone along peacefully after the first time they were tasered.

While there have been people who have died after being tasered, to my knowledge, independent review of those deaths have not determined the taser as the cause of death in a single case.

Even if the taser did cause a few of those deaths, how many people have been killed after being struck with a baton, or died from respiratory ailment complications after pepper sprayed? When compared to taser deployments, I'd bet you will find other non lethal force means have caused more deaths.

The taser is a safe, effective tool that saves lives.

Tasers should not be banned, they don't talk about how many lives have been saved, because instead of cops having to shoot someone to death for having a gun or knife on them, they get tased and live.

On the other hand uses of tasers should be reviewed, because I've seen cops use them a lot when they should not have.

No they should be given to alot more departments, they save 1000's from alot worst, being beatten with night sticks, being shot with guns.

The only people who actually get stunned are those not obeying the police in all but a few cases. In those the officers need to be displined for it.

They save more lives than anything ever started by the police

guns should be banned instead, because too many people are dying from them. for example a 89 year old woman was shot by police officers from Atlanta Georgia. come on! ridiculous
