Windows Vista is the name of the latest release of Microsoft Windows, a line of graphical operating systems used on personal computers, including home and business desktops, notebook computers, and media centers. Prior to its announcement on July 22, 2005, Vista was known by its codename Longhorn.
On November 8, 2006, Windows Vista development was completed and is now in the release to manufacturing stage. Some editions were available to volume license customers, MSDN and TechNet subscribers through November 2006; Microsoft has stated that the scheduled release date for worldwide availability is January 30, 2007. These release dates come more than five years after the release of its predecessor, Windows XP, making it the longest time span between major releases of Windows.

yes, and, if you had fun with the DRM, Virus attacks, Trojans, Pop-ups/ins/overs/ unders, and the ad-ware, mal-ware, spy-ware and reloading the System every 5 weeks, PLUS, crashes, lost filenames, and errors, you will LOVE VISTA! (Virus,Instability,Spybots,Trojans,Adware!)
There are 821 Operating Systems, with over 760 being totally FREE for you to grab. All of those FREE OSes run upto 50X faster than any Microsoft Windows OS on the same hardware, as shown in over 100 test comparisons by trusted experts, since 1997.
Microsoft runs some of them, like GNU/Linux, and BSD, on 45,000 computer systems, servers, development networks, firewalls, routers, and the Redmond Labs 400 systems.
Microsoft.com runs behind 15,000 leased Akamai GNU/Linux servers. Hotmail.com runs on 15,000 GNU/Linux servers, though when purchased in 1997 by Microsoft, it was 6,500 BSD and GNU/Linux systems. MSN.com runs on 15,000 GNU/Linux servers.
Why? Because they are not only 50X faster, but, they are totally virus proof!
Vista will need new "registered" hardware, and there are few drivers available for printers, monitors, modems, and other devices, now. Promises are that by the release date in January 2007, some drivers will be available.
Don't hold your breathe!
Try this FIRST!!! http://pclinuxos.com that comes with all the resources, 5500 programs, games, applications, browsers, suites...
Boots in the CDrom, LIVE, and runs in RAM Disc!
