Wednesday it was approved for human use in the USA. I will never get one, sounds like the mark of the beast to me. They implant it into your arm (for medical records) but it can also be used to track people, used as a credit card, and a form of ID, along with many other uses.

It is a very sinister device that sure sounds like the mark, but silly people will accept it as being harmless and beneficial and so it may well become mandatory for everyone.

My dog has had one for years and I wondered why it hadn't been applied to humans. It's very convenient and much more informative than medical bracelets.

On the mark of the beast comment: The Word is quite clear on what this looks like. An implant just doesn't even come close matching the description.

It can be used to track the same way as a credit card (transactions appear only when it is used). Simply having a cell phone on your person is a much more efficient way to track you (transactions are polled constantly so the phone and the system knows what tower to use at any given second). The implant doesn't send or receive signals from long distances like a cell phone.

Count me out. I already don't like the fact that I have a debit card and that I use ATMs sometimes. The less information there is on me the better I feel. Plus, I just don't want anything implanted under my skin. My roommate only found out about the chip for the first time last week. He actually started crying because he was scared. I'm not as freaked out as he is but I believe (hope) most people would refuse to get involved with that.

*I've always though they may be good for little kids only they were used as a tracking device if they were kidnapped. I'd still be worried about crazy kidnappers slicing kids open, looking for the chip so they can remove it.

Sounds like 1984 to me. It will be the beginning of the end. This would allow the government to infringe on our lives even more. No good can come from this...NONE.

They aren't putting one of those in me. Besides all the Antichrist/Big Brother stuff, if they put your credit card chip in your hand, how long until muggers are chopping off people's hands? Ewwww....

Man, they already track you...if you are clean and don't have anything to hide...what are you worrying about...besides...there will be a distinct problem getting this through if people actually fight for their rights...

I'm not worried...I think the idea could be useful as long as we don't get apathetic regarding our rights....
wait..how many people voted in the last election?

Not for me. I finally got rid of all my credit cards. I don't need a chip either.
