From experience.......
It will help if you trade off taking tylenol, then 4 to 6 hours later take advil, then 4 to 6 hours later take the tylenol again ,,, and keep trading off like that.
Rinse every hour with warm salt water, or 1 part of peroxide and 5 parts water and rinse with that .
I've heard that if you wet a tea bag and set it on the area it will help.., and if you smoke, don't! The sucking action of the mouth like smoking or drinking out of a straw will make it really worse.
Good luck!!

I feel your pain - I just went through a similar experience that ended with a root canal. All I did was take Motrin every 2-4 hours and avoid chewing on that side. Sorry about your tooth...good luck.

anbesol can help you for few mins, or put ice to ease the bump
take Advil, it's the best medicine I had for tooth pain, but it takes 15 to 20 mins to get affective, and you need to take every 4 hours to keep the pain away. and be careful, don't over take it.

Use anbesol or oragel on the tooth. Also take some ibuprofen or naproxen for the pain. Cloves are good to use too.

You probably have an infection. I suggest you boil water with enough salt, bring that to a boil and let the water cool down alittle. Make sure it's warm enough where you can tolerate it in your mouth. Rinse and you will feel 100% better!! Hope you feel better.

Call the dentist. If you are in a lot of pain ask for a prescription for some pain pills. They did it for me they should do it for you.

Take Advil or Tylenol, or Anbesol can also be helpful, but I don't like it, because it tastes icky.
