No not every city has a Golden Gloves. They are broken down into territories as to give all sections of the country representation. The Winners of the regionals (territories) compete in the Golden Glove Tournament of Champions. To my knowledge you have the Chicago Golden Gloves, the Intercity Golden Gloves, and the New York Golden Gloves (I'm not sure if L.A. has one). I'm going off memory here as I competed in the Silver Gloves as a child and teenager, in the mid '70's to early '80's (it is open to ages 8-15, you can't compete in the Golden Gloves until you are 16). You live in San Bernadino so I would contact the two gyms you have there for more reliable info. For all I know they may have an L.A. Golden Gloves competition, but don't quote me.

I don't think so. But in our little neck of the woods we have something of the sorts. Usually a group will get together and decide the winner by who can tell the best story of a bar fight in our county. Mind you this is the north end of the county and we only have about 4 towns averaging 350 people or so. (and 4 taverns in each town). After the votes are in the one with the most prolific tale of the fight that everyone missed gets the trophy. This is Wisconsin you know.
