I have a dog just like you're dog she never spent time running or playing outside Then I got a new puppy now she and the puppy play and play and play. My oldest dog was a little over weight before the puppy, but she's lost some weight and is more energetic.

Sounds like my dog, Wizard. He is a border collie. I believe it's just personality. It doesn't matter what kind of dog you get, every dog has a different personality. My dog Wizard, has to be reminded numerous of times to go pee. He goes outside in the yard, sniffs, and then turns around to go inside. He forgets to go pee. My dog also doesn't like to play much, so people have to try to get him roused up, so he can have some exercise. He has been this way ever since he was 3. Now he is 6.

it depends on how old your dog is. i have a golden retriever who is about 10 years old and she'll fetch a couple times and then just plop down. Either that or your dog just doesn't like fetch. Try to play tug of war or something and see if he likes that better.

No - Only to use the toilet.
I walk my dog for 1 and half hours in morning and same at night.
Lucky to live by the beach but also have great country walks too.
My back garden like yours is probably too small for my dog.

no my dogs literally live in our yard-they're always running and jumping all over the place, we have a big garden so they have tons of space. we let them in the garage sometimes but they seem to prefer the yard :D my dogs hate walks they just prefer to play in the garden so the way I see it, its a win win situation for everyone because its freezing and nobody wants to walk the dogs anyway lol

NEWFIES RULE!!!! my parents raise brown newfies and show them. My mom just got back from Germany with a new puppy today. your dog isnt lazy, newfies love being with people...the longer you stay outside the longer he will too!!! gotta be carefull with letting a newfie outside in the heat after a meal, they get heat strokes easy. My parents own Bifrost Kennels / Bifrost Newfoundlands.
