The question should be: If AN immigrant has a baby in the USA, does that make her A US citizen?

The answer is no the mother and/or father do not become automatic citizens, and the baby will only become one, based on current federal law, depending on the circumstances. If someone is 9 months pregnant and sneaks across with the intent to use their, what they now believe to be "American Baby", as leverage to become citizens or to stay, then no that child is not an American Citizen just because he popped out of the uterus after being here for 2.9 seconds. Now if the mother and/or parents are here for any other reason, be it legal or otherwise, and the baby just happens to be conceived or born here then yes, said baby is a US citizen. Hope this helps.

That makes the baby and automatic citizen. The parent is not a citizen.

The baby will be a US citizen regardless if the mother is a legal or illegal immigrant. The mother's status will not change after the baby is born.

No, but the baby is. And upon turning 21, that baby can make the parent a U.S citizen(after going throught the whole process). Anytime before that, the parent can still be deported.

The baby will be a legal citizen of the United States. The mother, if she is illegal, will still be illegal and should be escorted out of the country, with a bill from the hospital for giving birth there. If she wants to take the child with her, terrific. If not, it could easily be adoped by legal citizens here.

Mother, no. Kid, depends on who you are speaking to. Generally if born here the kids are treated as citizens, but there are those who dispute that interpretation if the parents are here illegally. If the parent is here legally, there is no question. Then, the child is a citizen.
