I like to be creative and love to dance....do you know where can I go to express myself and having fun? Do you think it is wrong to go clubbing? I have friends from church say that to stay away from dance clubs or clubbing. What's your perspective on this and where can I enjoy to do what I love to do? What about social dance, ballroom, or something? Is that more better to dance? I like more trance, techno, rave, and hiphop. I just want to know where to dance and enjoy myself.

I reckon one's behavior at a club is necessarily immodest, correct?

I grew up taking dance lessons (from preschool through college) and have always felt most free and spiritually connected to my God when in dancing. Granted - there are many types of dancing and some would perhaps be a bit risque for the more religious members of society (bumping & grinding to hip-hop, for instance), as it's pretty suggestive stuff. So - perhaps dance lessons that lead to more "organized" (ie - tame) dancing might be the ticket for you. I love African dance classes (live drumming and great cardio!), modern dance and a little ballroom thrown in for good measure.
There is definately a way for you to do what you enjoy without compromising your beliefs or your morals. However, I think you - and not your friends - would be the best judge of the appropriateness of your dancing and related actions.
Good luck!

I understand how you feel as my church friends condemned disco and clubs. They see it as a paradise for 'committing sins' like one-night stands and gang fights.

However, if you are not doing anything that is morally wrong, it's fine to let loose and enjoy. Enjoy while you are still young as when you gets older, you will be tied down by age, work or family to go clubbing.

If you like ballroom, line or even social dancing, maybe there are some community clubs in your area that teaches them.

As you grow as a believer your desire for things like hip hop and clubbing should diminish. Ballroom dancing is acceptable, and many churches have praise dancers. Why not check it out?

I don't think that clubbing is wrong. You can go andenjoy yourself without any sin. I also love to dance and have visited night clubs in my time. It is a great way to relax.

Of course you can dance. The problem is the drugs and sex associated with the kinds of people that go "clubbing" and "raving". Dance, but definitely set standards with who you go with, and what you do.

If you're just going to dance and have fun, then there's nothing wrong with it. However, if you go to clubs to hook up with people for casual sex and get high on drugs, then it is a sin.

Why are you still trying to embrace your old self. When you became a believer all of the old things passed away. You are a new person now so start fresh.
