Lately, I have been getting real warm in the face when I have conversations with people I generally don't talk to or people whom are of higher authority than me. Warm as in an embarassed feeling. I normally do not do. In fact, I am an outgoing person and it has never happened to me until recently. I have always felt comfortable talking to anyone. I just don't understand it. I wonder if it is a medical condition. How can I stop it?

The chances of it being a medical condition are slim. i get the same thing all the time and very outgoing too. I get it because i'm afraid of messing things up (socially) or, making a fool of myself. Think more specifically about why it happens to you.

hope this helps!

Don't worry it's normal, just try and make yourself comfortable with people you know less and such. Depends on your mood most times, I always have a heart attack, which is faboulous when you have a murmur, (not a real heart attack) when I'm talking to people I don't know. And I'm also an extremely outgoing person, just fight it. Talk to people and ignore the feeling, just know that nothing bads going to hapen from the enconuter, and try re-realizing or reconnecting yourself with generaly friendly "authority" older people you can talk to, sometimes it's just energy, and hormones. Other times it's a vague feeling of rejection or worry of it, but you can get past it, just remind yourself these people are no different then you once you get to know them.

It's not a medical condition or anything like that. You're just worried, over-analyzing the conversation, embarassed, etc.

When in a conversation, try and feel relaxed. Remember, people would rather talk about themselves then listen to you talk about yourself, so ask whoever you're talking to about something that you both have in common. Say, for example, you're talking to a kid on the lacrosse team, and you play soccer. Ask the kid what their record is, if they're going to states, etc. Then you can talk about your school's chances of winning the All-Sports Award. If you're talking to a teacher, adult, always be polite. Ask them about their jobs. Adults love to talk about their jobs. Try not to think too much about what you're saying, just say it if it's appropriate.

Try going to www.toastmasters.org. They have local meetings all over the world. You practice speaking in front of people every week, and it will help you to overcome your difficulties. Everyone is very nice and supportive.
Good luck!
