I have an Olympus D490 that needs the flash door repaired. Can I do it myself?

The flash door that you manually pop up when you need flash is not working. Seems as though a spring or something similar is broken which makes the door snap up and snap down in place. I want to fix it myself.

When you have still warranty for that camera, you must not try to do anything yourself, or the warranty will become void.
Whether you can mend a camera or not depends first on what's wrong with it. Second if you have to replace a broken part, and according to your description I fear it's not a simple spring that's broken, you must have it fixed by Olympus.
