yes. This example is most commonly used to a women giving birth. her stomach is like elastic and stretches out and afterwards go back to normal or even the cervix opening for the baby to pass through...it has elastic properties.

Some of the muscles are flexors and some are extensors. But both contract and extend. So yes they have elastic properties and exercise helps them improve.

Of course they do otherwise if you were to stretch your muscles, as when you warm up before doing any rigorous exercise, your muscle would not contract to the original form and position.
When warming up you are actually allowing for energy to be converted in your muscles and allowing the muscle to get rid of waste. If you do not warm up energy (glucose) will not be present and your muscles could tear.

Yes, all muscles have viscoelastic properties which are individual. They are used in all moving like walking, kumping etc. There are also other systems working in the muscles that prevent from streching too much. (That's th short short version of it...)
