350 degrees, the time is based on the weight of the chicken.
A typical whole chicken weights about 2-3 lbs so that would cook about 1hr 30 mins to 1 hr 45 mins.

place the chicken in a baking dish breast up
add your basic spices: salt, pepper (I love to add rosemary) to a little butter and mix. spred the butter/spice mixture all over the bird.
in the cavity of the bird, add some lemon halves and/or rosemary sprigs (fresh, not the dried stuff)

I cover the bird with a large piece of foil ("tenting") for the first 45 minutes of baking.

After 45 minutes, remove the foil and baste. you should baste about every 20 minuts or so until cooked. The outer skin should be a deep, rich brown and crisp

I like to just rub it down with butter and then salt and pepper. If it is a whole chicken, bake for 20 minutes per pound at 400 degrees. If you want it really juicy, stick about 1/2 a stick of butter inside the cavity. Good luck!

First, you'll need a roaster pan, some bacon & your basic seasoning, such as "montreal chicken spice"
1: place your chicken in the roasting pan skin on, breast up
2: sprinkle on your seasoning (light to medium works best)
3: secure 3-4 strips of raw bacon along the top covering as much area as possible.
4: lid your roaster & bake at 350-375 for 60-90 minutes
5: enjoy

use the seasoning as a rub. rub it on the bird and let it sit a while then cook it with the rub on.
