Do they hurt? If they do they're probably canker sores. Using something like Kanka, kank-aid or even campho-phenique will help.

See a dentist. Oral thrush tends to look like flaky lesions rather than blisters, but it does sound like a fungal infection of some sort, its hard to tell without actually viewing your tongue - as oral infections is a very wide area. Best thing to do pop to the dentist.

What you describe sounds like "thrush". It is a yeast infection. You mentioned being sick. Were you taking antibiotics? If so, this is your culprit. Antibiotics sometimes upset the natural balance of good bacteria in the body causing the bad stuff to over grow.

Are you asthmatic or diabetic? Inhalers can cause the blisters and being diabetic can cause a thrush infection in your mouth

Sounds to me like you have oral thrush. Its more common in babies but adults can get it as well. Heres a link: http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/oralthrush.htm
