If she is 5, she still has her primary(baby teeth) in the front. She will not get her permanents until around age 7. If it were permanent, it would be big and have 3 little ridges along the biting edge. They are called mamelons (Google these to see how they look.) I seriously doubt that is is her adult tooth. Don't worry. She's just losing her baby teeth early. My son (5 yrs old) did the same thing!!

The front baby teeth are usually the first ones to be lost, and she is about the right age to start loosing them.
I agree with taking her to the dentist if you have any doubts. Our teeth are their own entities in a way. They do move around in your mouth and even adult teeth can slightly loosen. That's how braces work to straighten teeth. But if it is an adult tooth and it is very loose, I would be safer than sorry, and take her to the dentist. Make sure she did not experience any trauma to the tooth that would cause it become loose. Trauma could cause tooth to discolor and even the root to die.

That sounds about right for when I lost a front top tooth. Visit a dentist if you're still unsure. Is the bottom of the tooth jagged? Mine were when my adult front tooth came in, and I noticed many other childrens top new adult teeth are also.

The issue is that if baby teeth rot enough, it can actually damage the adult teeth before they even break through. If this is the case you might want to consider the work. No novacane? I wouldn't suggest it, what a way to make future dental appointments hell for sure. I would suggest asking why it's needed, what the benefits would be and what would happen if you opted to not do the work now. Second opinions are never a bad thing either. Also, you might want to consider a dentist that specializes in working with children, they can be difficult to find, but are well worth the effort.

she would have lost milk teeth at the front before adult teeth came through.
there is a chance she does have adult teeth, but there would be very few reasons that it is loose, for example she has had a bang to it.
I would go to the dentist to check it out, if it is an adult tooth, it can be secured to help the gums and tendons strengthen again

I do not believe it is an adult tooth. At this age, they lose their baby teeth. If you are that concerned, take her to a dentist.
