We're doing a role-play in class for our college assignment. There are four people in a team including myself.
The thing is, the team leader is kinda getting on my nerves. If it were real-life, he'd probably be one of my boss-from-hell - bossy, snobbish, 'know-it-all', and *never* listens. Talk about team-work!
So how do I tell him off tactfully?
Oh, by the way it's Business Communications class so I need to find an alternative to ungracefully yelling at his face or breaking his neck. Lol.

The other two fellas in the group are generally happy with him - letting him do all the talking means we won't have to contribute much. So essentially I'm the only one complaining.
He's smart enough to shut up and listen though when the lecturer is sitting in to observe.

AS far as this person, I would tactfully suggest other options, ask the team what does everyone else think after he says something, encourage communication. Avoid complaining about this person to the other teammates. This can cause utter dismay if the statements were to get back to the one you are having an issue with. Be open and honest, try to point out different persectives and suggest the team votes on items to allow everyone a say in what happens.
As for your next team assignment. Set up a team charter. Many of these can be found online and basically states what everyone is profient in, what problems might arise, how they can be dealt with, and basically puts everyone in a position where they are aware of when, where, and what will happen in a given situation.

Situations are different in every case. But usually the big talkers has the little substance to offer to the group. Ask this guy to show how things should be done as he suggested, and wait to see what this guy can offer. If there is nothing, your group can effectively discount anything he may say in the future.
Leader of all is the servant of all.

First of all I don't understand how it is rude of someone asks u how much your phone costs, that's a normal question and nothing to be embarrassed about. Everything else you described does not relate to any culture, Asian or American. Your friend is just pushy, has nothing to do with the Asian culture. U sound like ure ashamed of being asian.

Speak up when you disagree with something he says, also try to get the others in the group to speak up from time to time by asking their opinions on things. And most of all, don't let him get to you.....in real life he is going to be one of those co-workers who gets left out at parties and social events.

I had one like that and I told him if he won't shut-up I'm going to get the professor to kick you out. Then he went on again how he was the one doing all the work, so I called the professor and asked if he could shut him up before I do it with my knuckles. He was told to mind his own business do his part in the team and shut up. I couldn't stop laughing and I told him that he was asking for it.

You can speak with the professor about it, or see how the rest of the team feels about it. Unfortunately, you'll meet many people in life like this.

Tell him, in case he has forgotten, that you are all in this assignment together and are supposed to be a team. A team works together. You'd appreciate it if he did that.

Tell him you appreciate his input but he's not the only one in the group and he needs to work with the others and not be so overbearing.
