Call the FDA and CDC and give them the name of the product and the lot number. Others who have purchased this product may be at risk.

You participate in the great American pastime of lawsuits!

First, I would be sure that you actually had food poisoning by contacting a doctor to run tests. You also have to prove that the food you think it was actually was the culprit. The best thing to do would be to call your local health department and the store where you purchased the food to let them know. You need to keep the food refrigerated until there is further instruction from either the health department, your doctor or your lawyer.

How do you know exactly where the illness came from? Food poisoning can take anywhere from 1-24 hours to develop, so almost anything you ate in the past day or so can have caused it.
I would just chuck the suspected food into the garbage and move on with life.

Take it back for a refund, get a doctor's note that you had food poisoning and see what they will do and give you.

its hard to say,

If you got food poisioning, the grocery store can easily say that the way you handled the food once you left their store is what caused you to get ill, ( such as you did not wash your hanbs, you did not cook it properly, you did not refrigerate it properly.)

stay hydrated -

but it is hard to determine what exactly was the cause,

Go to the ER immediately, it could be fatal.
Contact your health department and the place you purchased it from.
