Yes you can. Tap f8 repeatedly until boot option menu appears. Select safe mode and once you are in windows go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools....

If you can't get into safe mode select safe mode with command prompt option and type in the following at the prompt

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

You can also get to command prompt with your windows boot disk (you know the one you may not have made yet)

I suppose you have already tried the tips provided ?

Just out of curiosuty did it work ?

I assume you press the power up button and nothing happens ?

Then it may be your motherboard is fooked. Tho check for this, Look on the mother board, you should some black cylinders dotted about the motherboard ,

You view them from the top, so the top is a silverish circle with a cross in it, the sides are normally black.

If the top surface is convexed, then it is fooked. If the top is still reasonably flush then you are ok, there should be about 18 or so on your mboard so check all of em.

I hope this isn´t the case, but thought as everyone has answered you original q, why not offer a different angle on the prob.

Good luck
