I agree with you. you know it's funny. i read all the answer and the only defense is 1.) that "at least LEO is interested" and 2.) how do we know your not and actor... i mean c'mon people. If you're interested doesn't make you an expert he's throwing rediculous numbers like Homes use up 40 % of the worlds resources...do you know how much 40 % is that is obviously wrong no matter who you are!! and # 2, if the person asking this question is an actor , what does that matter do your own
research and get the true story. People are grasping a pitiful straws!!
-Thank you for at least saying "with all due respect"; all these other Loe huggers need more research into having a proper discussion on facts and growing up.

Well, as an average person I would have to say that I think it's great that someone famous would try to bring it to our attention that we need to re-think the ways of our living and to re-think our priorities. Even though there is not enough evidence to predict global warming or cooling, I do feel that it is important to try to do the best we can to prolong it. Not only is it better to conserve energy for global warming, less pollution is healthier for all of us. I think it is considerate for someone to care about our environment, for our children, our grandchildren, and so forth. Unfortunately, in our society, you have to be famous to have a voice. Everyone is more likely to do something if someone known is doing it.

Well, what's wrong with a famous person using his notoriety for something worthwhile? Most famous people are just known for over dosing on drugs or beating someone up. At least he is trying to do something productive in his spare time, instead of wasting it chasing hot chicks and/or getting arrested.
As for global warming, I suppose that it is better to err on the side of caution, and not mess with the climate any more than we can. As you said, no one can predict what will happen if we continue to pump un-naturally large amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere.

In this case? Nothing. In fact, the current Global Warming Scam is simply a way for foundations to bring in a lot of donations and for celebrities to look charitable driving in their suv's and living in huge energy burning homes.

What does it matter if Leo is talking about global warming? Don't get me wrong...I am sick to death of Actors pretending to be concerned about this (all the while riding around in their Hummers and Range Rovers). But Leo is a very smart guy and is one of the few who really does care. He is not pretending to know everything about it, he is just trying to show people that there are things they could do to slow the process. If you read Michael Crichton's "State of Fear" it will ease your mind.

At least he is interested in the issue, and that's a lot already. It doesnt have absolutely nothing to do if he is an actor or a mechanic, it has nothing to do.
Perhaps, his research and knowledge about the issue are not so wide as yours but the merit is making people understand (or at least trying) that global warming is a serious problem which is affecting us nowdays, and that if we dont take action and do something, even from our homes, our survival could be in danger someday.
Thank you, and please be more tolerant.

Wow, you guys are harsh... all he asked about was what could we do on a personal level about global warming. A completely valid question. He wasn't preaching... He was just getting the discussion started.
Last I checked, you don't need to be an expert on a subject matter to ask a question here.

Your voicing your opinion that Leo shouldn't be discussing global warming because he is an actor, yet you, yourself are voicing your own "expertise" about his "expertise?"
~Are you serious?
If you don't want to be a part of the solution - get off the message board. Go comb your hair.

I think one of the most effective methods of making sure globla warming doesn't kill us all would be for news programs to quit asking entertainers for their political opinions. Entertainers give off a lot of hot air, even more so when they engage in political discussion. As they are generally clueless, it would be best if they just stuck to entertaining.

I don't think it's appropriate to have an actor asking a question about which he/she has no expertise, or if they do then it needs to be shown. Same with politics; their opinions don't mean anymore than anyone else's. Says something about the American mentality and our "heros".
