Its for a gay couple that has lived together for about 20 years. Normally I put both of thier first and last names on things. However i'm sending something form online this year and there is only 14 characters for first name and 14 characters for last name. How should I address it? with just one of thier last names? whose should I put?

I would put one of the first names and then the word "and" in the First name section, and then put the other first name in the Last name section, I've done this before and it doesn't matter whose names as long as you have the right address :) hope this helps

I would use their first names only this time.
Say you are sending something to Jane and Joan. Put "Jane and" in the box for first name, then put Joan in the last name box. It should come out Jane and Joan, with the proper spacing after the word "and".

I would address it to the one whom you first met and knew, i.e. Mr. (or Ms.) J. Smith & S.O.; the s.o. stands for significant other and this could be spelled out if there is room. If you met them both at the same time, then you would address it Mr. Smith and Mr. Jones, or Ms. as the case may be. The oldest person's name would go first.
