The above has happened to two different microwaves that are fairly new.

Or it could be the magnetron tube. How old is "fairly new"? I had one go out at a year, and its replacement went out at about 5 years.

Normal lifespan is 5-10 years.

Blown fuse. I know a guy who used to fix them. Well, tear it apart and search for the problem. Dont touch anything silver with wires attached to it. Unplug first, then find the bad fuse. Then find out why it keeps blowing fuses.
