Just looking for different opinions on moving to another state (from Louisiana to Texas) 4 hours away, from my kids father. He sees them every other weekend now. They are ages 14(girl) and 12 (boy). They are both very anxious and excited about moving. We dont have to move but want to for better education, sports, etc . but their father is not going to be happy about this due to the inconvenience.
Just want some opinions thats all :) thanks!

It's only 4 hours away so they could still see him every other weekend. offer to meet him halfway on his weekends this may make it easier for him. If it's a better life for your kids I say do it. The father needs to think of his kids not the inconvenience. You do what you think is right for those kids no matter what.

Regardless of where you live, your children need to have a relationship with their father! You are partially responsible to facilitate that if you are concerned with the best interest of your children.
If you are choosing to move, you should be willing to meet him half way every other weekend so he can be with his children. Put yourself in his position. If he had custody and decided to take your children four hours away from you, how would you feel? You would be devastated and heart broken!! Why are his feelings any less important than yours?
Try to maintain a healthy relationship with him for your kids' sake.

Have u spoken to the kids about the father situation. Wat do they think? If they r fine with it then move

you should do what right for you and your children. if he doesn't like it, that's his problem.
