I don't think children have a right to expect privacy in all matters, especially from their parents. I think that it's a privilege when parents give teens their own space, and if a teen does something to make a parent doubt them, then that privilege can be taken away just like any other. As a matter of fact, it should be taken away because that's the only way to really keep our kids safe anymore...to know what they're up to.

I believe in kids having privacy but there are limits to it. If they show they cant be trusted or seem like they are on drugs then by all means the privacy rules should change. You cant fix what you dont know.

Absolutely. Fair is fair and you have an obligation to protect and nurish. If their habits are preventing you from helping them, you need new habits. If they get upset, they will forgive you in the future.

Absolutely. And something to remember, once you've lost trust, it's really hard to get it back.
So don't lie or cheat. Do what you say you are going to do, be where you say you are going to be. say what you mean.

more responsible, more freedom

less responsible, less freedom

that's how I would do it

when I was 17 I pretty much did whatever I wanted, maybe it was too much freedom, maybe not though, I lived
