If i were you I would call the preschool and explain your situation tell them that you tryed last year but they didn't have any room and you would really like to get your child in there care for the fall and ask to be put on there list it's worth a shot. They may say first come first serve but it doesn't hurt to try

you should have put his name down for the school before he was due t go there, my son has had his name down for his nursery for a year now and he isnt even 2 yet!!
keep phoning and calling in to see them, get you sons name on the waiting list, ask for any spare place even if its only for a few afternoons a week then you will have more chance of getting a full time place!!

Just talk to the school...all schools have a waiting list, have him put on it, older kids usually get priority, but when a spot is open he will get picked. In order for this to happen though a spot must open meaning someone must leave so you'll just have to wait. Make sure if nothing else he will be on it for next year, insuring he will get picked before any younger kids. But you'll need to do it this year to make sure he gets a spot reserved for him.

put him on the waiting list and keep phoning them up to ask what place he now is. You'd be surprised how many kids don't show up! You might even get a place 2 weeks after it starts when no-one bothered to tell them they didn't need the place after all.
