To accomplish a "country look" go for light and airy colours with lots of light (unstained) wood. This should be complimented with rich primary colours such as navy, red, forest, yellow...
Traditionally you'd compliment dark walls with light furniture and light walls with dark furniture. As your furniture is a dark, prominent colour (navy or forest) your walls should be non-competitive as a soft neutral.
I'd suggest a soft creamy colour (like a french vanilla) on the walls with the navy sofa, and a more earthy colour (beige, taupe) with the dark green sofa. Shades of "wheat" would look fine with either beige or green.
Happy painting!

A very light brown or and off white would make it so neither the walls or the couch take all the attention. Plus you options to change furniture in the room will be more open and easier to do in the future, unless you like to repaint more. Also making the color of the ceiling a little darker than the walls will give it a homier/country look.

Paint it a shade of yellow, it will look great with either sofa you pick as well as open up the room. You could also paint your trim in white.

In my opinion a dark green couch looks great against a light green background.
