You should apply and let the local SS office make a determination in your case.

If SSD believes you can do any work at all, including sitting down and taking tickets at a movie theater they will not give you disability.

You can expect to be rejected twice on paper. Then you will have a hearing with an administrative law judge and may be rejected again. This process takes several years. (I know from personal experience).

Your age, the social security guidelines and something called the grid all come into play, as does the reason you are claiming disability.

Get a lawyer involved as soon as possible. If you can do sit down jobs you are NOT disabled under SSD guidelines.

Wow, that really depends on what you mean by disability. If you consider yourself totally disabled, you need a lawyer to help you. Either way, you can count on being turned down three times and if you have a disability, continue to the fourth level.

I was in chronic pain because of my job and was turned down and told I could work until age 63. I should have used a lawyer, but instead, I dropped it. My mistake. Don't make the same mistake I made. I observed some other people who were getting disability checks who did not deserve them and took advantage of the system. That is why they are so strict.

It take years to get disability approved...even if you really are TOTALLY disabled. Being able to do sit down work is not considered disabled!

I guess not.
if you are not able to hold a job, lets say you have a bad back and can't sit long, or you have a bad leg and can't walk long, you might get it.
