...kill people who don't believe what they do that they will be rewarded after death. I mean how can any human being believe in such irrational stupidity? And they then call us Atheists the evil ones? I don't get it!

72 virgins can't be wrong to such idiots. Its funny how incredibly stupid people are. You sacrifice yourself in the physical realm to go to the spiritual realm and you expect physical pleasure? Just blow a load off, not yourself.

i shall answer properly...i just type slowly.. i will be back.. IN EDITING: EDIT: The effect that is generated here, is that you highlight the fact that there are bad things in the texts, yet you fail to give proper context to those sightings that you list.(i do realize that its not yours directly, but you are still mentioning these verses) Context does not mean that you also read the parts around those text to see what was going on, but also checking to see good reason and directive when these things are said. people have a tendancy to think that they have the moral laws down pat, and that they themselves are moraly sound, but the problem is, is that for every action we do that we consider as "bad", someone else has romaticized, and made good according to them. no one mentions that what they are doing is evil or wrong, they say their reasons for why they are doing it. Hitler was trying to perfect the human race, and make himself the king. in his own way, he was trying to unify the world in the way he would like to see it done. in that context, it seems good does it not? unity for the world, advancment of the human race, end to all wars.. So when we sight the "bad" verses in the bible, we decide that the decisions god made were bad. but we have no real way of knowing that they are bad. we may simply just disagree with what he said. showing the christians "cherry picking" good verses to follow is very true, but to find the "bad" ones, you too must do the same thing. the whole thing boils down to this. children always think that their parents are being mean and cruel when they are not getting their own way. when the parents punish their children, the children then say how mean their parents are. We just are not capable of understanding of why god thinks that was a good idea when he said that. now, i know what must be asked here, that god is said to be unchanging, and that he said he is jelous, and he changed his mind on multiple occasions. But what is meant by that? God did not change, he simply knew that we have changed, and changed the rules for us. Just like extending the bed time for a child when he gets a little older.

If you are speaking of Muslims, then they are taught that as part of the faith. However, it is not a part of the everyday religious ideas, but only when pertaining to Holy war. Doesn't make it any more sane, but hey, you can get away with a lot when you pervert a religious text by twisting it to suit you.

Same thing with the Christians in the time of the crusades, the inquisition, the salem witch massacre, etc.

Try reading "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins or "Breaking The Spell" by Daniel Dennet. They have some very interesting things to say about the origin of religion and belief.

most of the people who are doing those things are brainwashed into believing that they will be rewarded for doing these things which is why i can see the point of view of atheists that these people are insane and don't listen to reason not all of these people are like that but there are alot who are like that as for myself i'm agnostic so i listen to and see all points of views

Suicide bombing is not permitted by Islam, suicide is FORBIDDEN!,
those poor people are being led astray, by Imams who astray themselves, look up Kharajite. However fighting in the way of God is permitted. But this has to be explained, so i will give you the commentary on the verses, whom so many people see as controversial.

The Command to fight Those Who fight Muslims and killing Them wherever They are found

Abu Ja`far Ar-Razi said that Ar-Rabi` bin Anas said that Abu Al-`Aliyah commented on what Allah said:

[وَقَـتِلُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ الَّذِينَ يُقَـتِلُونَكُمْ]

(And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you,)

Abu Al-`Aliyah said, "This was the first Ayah about fighting that was revealed in Al-Madinah. Ever since it was revealed, Allah's Messenger used to fight only those who fought him and avoid non-combatants. Later, Surat Bara'ah (chapter 9 in the Qur'an) was revealed.'' `Abdur-Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam said similarly, then he said that this was later abrogated by the Ayah:

[فَاقْتُلُواْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَيْثُ وَجَدتُّمُوهُمْ]

(then kill them wherever you find them) (9:5).

However, this statement is not plausible, because Allah's statement:

[الَّذِينَ يُقَـتِلُونَكُمْ]

(...those who fight you) applies only to fighting the enemies who are engaged in fighting Islam and its people. So the Ayah means, `Fight those who fight you', just as Allah said (in another Ayah):

[وَقَاتِلُواْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَآفَّةً كَمَا يُقَـتِلُونَكُمْ كَآفَّةً]

(...and fight against the Mushrikin collectively as they fight against you collectively.) (9:36)

This is why Allah said later in the Ayah:

[وَاقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْ وَأَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِّنْ حَيْثُ أَخْرَجُوكُمْ]

(And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out.) meaning, `Your energy should be spent on fighting them, just as their energy is spent on fighting you, and on expelling them from the areas from which they have expelled you, as a law of equality in punishment.'

The Prohibition of mutilating the Dead and stealing from the captured Goods

Allah said:

(but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allah likes not the transgressors.)

This Ayah means, `Fight for the sake of Allah and do not be transgressors,' such as, by committing prohibitions. Al-Hasan Al-Basri stated that transgression (indicated by the Ayah), "includes mutilating the dead, theft (from the captured goods), killing women, children and old people who do not participate in warfare, killing priests and residents of houses of worship, burning down trees and killing animals without real benefit.'' This is also the opinion of Ibn `Abbas, `Umar bin `Abdul-`Aziz, Muqatil bin Hayyan and others. Muslim recorded in his Sahih that Buraydah narrated that Allah's Messenger said:

«اغْزُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، قَاتِلُوا مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللهِ، اغْزُوا وَلَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تَغْدِرُوا وَلَا تَمْثُلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا وَلَا أَصْحَابَ الصَّوَامِع»

(Fight for the sake of Allah and fight those who disbelieve in Allah. Fight, but do not steal (from the captured goods), commit treachery, mutilate (the dead), or kill a child, or those who reside in houses of worship.)

It is reported in the Two Sahihs that Ibn `Umar said, "A woman was found dead during one of the Prophet's battles and the Prophet then forbade killing women and children. '' There are many other Hadiths on this subject.

So maybe you will see know, that Ibn Kathir, a great scholar of the Qu'ran explained those verses a long time ago.

As for suicide, it is mentioned in the Qu'ran

[004:029] O you who believe! Eat not up your property among yourselves unjustly except it be a trade amongst you, by mutual consent. And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allâh is Most Merciful to you.

(V.4:29) What is said about committing suicide.
Narrated Thâbit bin Ad-Dahhâk [radhi-yAllâhu 'anhu]: The Prophet [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] said, "Whoever intentionally swears falsely by a religion other than Islâm, then he is what he had said (e.g. if he says, 'If such thing is not true then I am a Jew,' he is really a Jew if he is a liar). And whoever commits suicide with a piece of iron, will be punished with the same piece of iron in the Hell-fire." [Sahih Al-Bukhâri, 2/1363 (O.P.445)]
Narrated Jundub: The Prophet [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] said, "A man was inflicted with wounds and he committed suicide, and so Allâh said: 'My slave has caused death on himself hurriedly, so I forbid Paradise for him.' " [Sahih Al-Bukhâri, 2/1364 (O.P.445)]
Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllâhu 'anhu]: The Prophet [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] said, "He who commits suicide by throttling, shall keep on throttling himself in the Hell-fire; and he who commits suicide by stabbing himself, shall keep on stabbing himself in the Hell-fire (forever)." [Sahih Al-Bukhâri, 2/1365 (O.P.446)].

So fighting and killing is only permitted when someone is fighting with you,but if they stop then you should too.
