Hey I worked in Thailand for a while and went to a few full moon parties ha. I'm presuming you'll be flying out of the US.. you can get a roundtrip air ticket to Bangkok for around $850, though this time of the year will be a lot more. Once you get to Bangkok there are a few ways to get down to Ko Phang Na.. The bus/ferry combo (which will cost around $21 one way), the train/ferry combo (about $32 one way) or you can do the air/ferry combo ( about $50 one way). There is a range of accomodation on Ko Phang Na.. depends how close to the party you want to stay and what type of accomodation you're looking for. You can find beach bungalows anywhere from $8-$81 or you could choose to stay at a more upscale resort. I recommend checking out the Lonely Planet on Thailand if you're serious. As far as eating.. about $25 a day is plenty, and same goes for drinking.
The full moon party is an experience. I had a great time everytime I went though there are some annoyances, but when you have that many intoxicated people together on a beach it's unavoidable. I'd recommend staying at the Coco Hut in Hat Rin it's a little pricier than you're average beach hut (about $30 a night) but they have a good restaurant, nice pool, right on the beach (not the party beach either) and it's a nice scene. Staff is excellent too. Good luck, and hope this helps!

Frankly they have parties all month long there, half-moon parties, black moon parties, full moon parties....it's just a way to get people together to get pissed drunk.
If you are really into partying and letting go and going all wild, then it might be your cup of tea, but if you just enjoy a good drink and dance with some nice music, then go to any pub in Samui or Phuket.
It can get pretty wild there, as in drugs and booze mix incessantly, glass bottles on the beach, needles stuck in sand etc...If you do go, please be careful and not get too drunk to not be able to take care of yourself because there will always be people waiting to take advantage of you.
if you really want to go, arrange for an accommodation (not this year end, it's already fully booked) so you have a place to crash, arrange for a tuk-tuk to pick you up to your hotel at a certain time, or get the hotel to arrange for you, so you won't be so pissed as to not know your way around, and always be vigilant about your belongings. Lock up your passports and big cash money in your hotel safe. Bring just about THB 1000 - 2000 for the booze per person (depending on how much you drink). Keep your credit cards in your hotel.
Unless you really live wild, then forget about the hotel cos you'll end up dancing till dawn, or get so pissed where you sleep will not matter.

Im going to an same one!! That funds for accomdation is enormous. you are able to proceed to exist Koh Samui and get a velocity boat to the get at the same time and lower back even with the undeniable fact that the purely right boast is about 3am and the get at the same time doesnt end then. you need to stay in Sea Breeze in Koh Phangan- good prices, large crew.

depending where are you going from, you will have to take a boat to the island, hotel and food should be cheap. Not including air ticket I would guess around $60 per day hotel+food in a decent hotel.

It will be overbooked for this year end. If you must, consider alternatives. Usually rave beach parties to get beat. You can do this anywhere.
