I have a 27" sony tv, regular tube tv and the picture is tinted green always and thats the primary and only color displayed. What could be causing this, also what can be done to correct it?

Hi,it could be the tube itself or componets on the crt board.I've seen both in sony's.Could also be a short in the tube that could be fixed.If you were planning on spending money to fix it I would say it may run from 100.00 to 150.00.If the tube is shot than it's not worth it...

I had this happen with a TV also. The only thing that would get it to work properly was hitting it on the side of the case a couple of times. It would work temporarily (2 or 3 hours) before reverting back to the "green screen". Annoying....yes. Worth getting fixed...probably not.

That happened to ours...your TV is telling you it's time to buy a new one. We had ours from 1979 until 2004. You can replace it with a new one for under $200. We found that fixing it would actually cost more than replacing it.

Assuming it's not a signal issue (you could have a progressive signal hooked up wrong too), then most likely you lost the red, and it's time for a new TV.

need to set up the white balance. Unless the crt is shorted. Then scrap it.

stop playing with magnets on the screen

seriously I suspect a component has failed.
