I am considering to live in Puerto Rico. In January I am going to stay on the island for my vacation. While there I wil do some scouting and check out the place. How easy or how hard it is to find work there, whether upscale or downscale?

Finding a good-paying job there is very difficult. Sometimes even with education, they do not pay that well as they would in the States. The cost of living is very high as well. I used to live there and left because if this. Furthermore, the crime rate is sky high, it is crowded, too many cars for a small island. There are actually more cars than people there, so if you are looking forward to traffic jams on a constant basis...

Unemployment is one of the highest in the nation. Rent, in a goo neighborhood starts t about 800. Utilities are also among the highest. No one in PR will pay you more than the Minimum Federal. Some get away with pain the past one. With that you could live in what passes for a project in the island. Yes there are food stamps and government housing. For high paing jobs, you need at least a bachelors degree. Among a few, engineer, doctor, lawyer, the usual. As young ladies moving to San Juan, you shold know than aside from being 5th in the world in murders, PR also is one of the places where most rapes are performed.

As she said..In Order to Find a Good paying Job..You have to have a Bachelor Degree or Work for the Puerto Rico Goverment..

To do that You'll need to Know Somebody to get You in..or Pala (Shovel) Padrino (God Father)

If you don't have neither it will be very difficult to live in PR with a $5.15 hour Job.

Puerto Rico is great for vacation but one thing is to move here. It is hard to find a job and rent is very expensive. Good luck trying.
