Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe! Both secular dictionaries and disinterested theologians acknowledge that Jehovah's Witnesses are a Christian religion.
In fact, the bible most closely associates being "Christian" with preaching about Christ and Christ's teachings. Review all three times the bible uses the term "Christian" and note that the context connects the term with:
"declaring the good news"
'teaching quite a crowd'
'open eyes, turn from dark to light'
"uttering sayings of truth"
"persuade"
"keep on glorifying"
(Acts 11:20-26) [The early disciples of Jesus] began talking to the Greek-speaking people, declaring the good news of the Lord Jesus... and taught quite a crowd, and it was first in Antioch that the disciples were by divine providence called Christians.
(Acts 26:17-28) [Jesus said to Paul] I am sending you, to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God... Paul said: “I am not going mad, Your Excellency Festus, but I am uttering sayings of truth and of soundness of mind. ...Do you, King Agrippa, believe the Prophets? I know you believe.” But Agrippa said to Paul: “In a short time you would persuade me to become a Christian.”
(1 Peter 4:14-16) If you are being reproached for the name of Christ, you are happy... But if he suffers as a Christian, let him not feel shame, but let him keep on glorifying God in this name
Even anti-Witnesses recognize that it is the preaching work that makes it clear that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are by far the most prominent followers of Christ:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded

Jehovah Witness is really different from Christianity, they don't celebrate any holidays, their belief is that only 1400 people will be saved at the second coming of Christ, they have a whole bunch of different beliefs and since I'm not a Jehovah Witness I probably am not representing their faith correctly... my boyfriend's family is so I've only been exposed to his views.
Here are two conflicting websites:
www.jehovahswitnessrevealed.com
www.watchtower.com
Also if you do a google search under video, there's a video of the history of Jehovah's Witnesses, I've watched bits and pieces but not the whole thing. My boyfriend has watched it all and now doesn't pressure me to go to the Kingdom Hall with his grandparents. (they don't accept me because I'm not in their religion)

in no way. Jehovah's Witnesses take their queue from the Watchtower. Now some will say its in uncomplicated terms a publishing enterprise, as theory it has no authority over what they suspect. Ask any jehovah witness who ever went against what the Watchower Bible and Tract Society advised them what to have faith, annd see what the effects have been.

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. We are Christians in that we believe that the only means for salvation is by exercising faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. This is about where our similarity with mainstream Christianity ends. We differ from Christendom in general in that we do not believe that Jesus is God but rather that he is the Son of God. The majority of us do not hope to go to heaven when we die and we do not fear eternal torment in hell-fire. We look forward to the Bible's promise of everlasting life in paradise on earth. If you would like to know more, the best thing to do is talk to a Jehovah's Witness the next time they call on you or check our their web-site - www.watchtower.org.
Other web-sites about Witnesses often have false information. You have already received several bits of false information from the people that have answered your question. Best to go straight to the source.

Jahovah's Witnesses are a sect of Christianity. They are big on the end of the world and bible study. They don't celebrate holidays except for Weddings (I believe). They're generally pretty nice people. I always invite them in if they come over, and talk to em for a while.

I have spoken quite often with the Jehovah witness, and they consider themselves as believers in the scriptures, but their is a slight difference in the practice of their religion.I personally think it doesn't matter, what you call yourself, and please do not act like you are in a herd or something, religion has a requirement for study and independent thought,so if you find yourself at a moment of independent thinking,go ahead and do a little research and find out for yourself what fit you,you are responsible for your self, even in religion. If you believe in a creator, you will come have to face him alone on the day of reckoning, and no one can stand in your place, you come in the world alone and you go out alone.

Jehovah's Witnesses are closer to Judaism than Christianity. They do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God (part of the Trinity, which the Bible is clear about), and they refer to God as Jehovah. They do not celebrate Christmas.

First, you need to know what a Christian is. A 20th century preacher of the gospel defined that as, "A person who HAS eternal life". Not "will have" or "should eventually have" or "hopes to have" or "is working hard to have"...
He based this on Jesus' own words: "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." In prayer Jesus thanked the Father for giving him authority over all people, "that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent". And Jesus also said, "I tell you the truth, he who believes on me has everlasting life." (John 5: 25 & 6:47 & 17:1-5)
So, all you have to do is ask Jehovah's Witnesses whether they HAVE eternal life, or whether they can't be sure of having it until 1,000 years after the still future battle of Armageddon!
