Why is everyone around the world so defensive?
Muslims feel like they are being attackeb by Christians.
Athiests feel like they are being attacked by Christians.
Christians feel like they are being attacked by everyone.
Why does everyone feel like it is there obligation to try to make everyone else in the world see things like they do? Why is it so hard just to agree to disagree? If you want to worship God, Allah, Yaweh, Vishnu, Buddah, Zues, or even no god, why should it matter if you aren't causing anyone any harm? Will it ever be possible to just let people be who they want to be (as long as they cause no harm to anyone else) without having to shove your beliefs down their throat?

It's too bad that it's the nature of man to think that his religion is superior to the world, isn't it? I mean, look at what we have had: Multiple wars in the name of religion; multiple women burned at the stake in the Burning Times; the killing of people in foreign countries in the name of the single male god theory...
You see where I'm going with this? Ever heard of a war in the name of any other religion in the name of good? Nope.

I wonder the same thing..It does not matter what you believe if you do not cram your ideas down some ones throat .Like you say, agree to disagree.Forceing your ideas is not right.Who cares if you are right or wrong..just live in peace .I think it comes from some peoples need to appear smarter or dominant over others,I do not know.I express my opinion ,but realise I may be wrong and it does not matter to me We all do not see the whole picture and need others to see a different view point and that is o.k.

If the Christian Right would stop trying to ban medical research, then maybe we can get along. President Bush's appointment to the CDC Ethical Advisory Board, a Dr. Reginald Finger, said he would consider opposing an HIV vaccine because it would encourage "pre-marital sex". The Vatican is opposing condom distribution in HIV-plagued Africa.
This is real, actual violence being waged in the name of religion. Oh, and you don't think the 9/11 hijackers were atheists, do you?

Not EVERYONE feels the same.
Think outside the box.
Live in peace.
We all CAN get along.
It starts with us.
Then from there we do the whole pay it forward thing and love everyone we come into contact with in hopes that they can share the love.
All we need is love.
Start small and hope for the best.
Love.
Peace.

I don't shove my beliefs down anyone's throat. God (and Jesus) tells me that I should preach the Good News of His salvation to "the ends of the earth." It is my job to make sure that everyone knows the Good News of Jesus' salvation and forgiveness of sins. I explain why he died for them and how they can accept his gift of grace. If they chose not to accept that gift, then the choice is theirs as are the consequences of that choice.

"There are three things a ship must know before it sets out on the high seas. Number one: why it is there in the first place. [essential ethics] Number two: how to keep from sinking. [personal ethics] Number three: how to keep from bumping into other ships. [societal ethics] Until you know why you are out here in the first place, trying to keep from bumping into each other is merely secondary." C.S. Lewis
Yes, its important not to harm other people, but that is not our purpose in life. Not only that, but purpose is not found in keeping to yourself, and i'll guarantee you'll ask yourself what good you were if you spend your life not influencing others. We are meant to bring good to others and to bring good to the one who created us.
