Old Fashioned Hot Buttered Rum recipe
Scale ingredients to servings
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
2 cups vanilla ice cream
rum
water
nutmeg
1. Combine sugar, brown sugar and butter in a 2-quart saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until butter is melted (6-8 min).
2. Combine cooked mixture with ice-cream in a large mixing bowl, and beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often until smooth (1-2 min). Store refrigerated up to 2 weeks or frozen up to one month.
3. For each serving, fill one-quarter of a mug with mixture, add one ounce rum and three-quarters of a cup of boiling water. Sprinkle with nutmeg.

1 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
1 1/2 ounces dark rum
Sugar to taste
1 stick cinnamon
Pat of butter
Heat the pineapple juice until it steams, don't boil it. In a large mug with the cinnamon stick, stir together the rum and sugar. Pour the hot pineapple juice over rum. Float pat of butter on top. Serve immediately.

Crockpot Hot Buttered Rum
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 pinch salt
3 sticks cinnamon
6 whole cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2 cups rum
heavy cream, whipped
Put all ingredients, except rum and cream, and nutmeg into crockpot. Add 2 quarts hot water. Stir well. Cover pot and cook on LOW for 5 hours.
Add rum; stir to blend. Serve from pot in warm mugs with a scoop of whipped cream and a dusting of nutmeg.

Hot Buttered Rum
INGREDIENTS:

1/4 lb. (1 stick) butter, softened
Pinch salt
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
rum, as desired
boiling water
PREPARATION:
Combine brown sugar, butter, salt, and spices; beat until fluffy. Place a heaping tablespoon of batter mixture in cup. Pour in as much or as little rum as you like and fill cup with boiling water. Stir and serve hot.
Makes enough for about 30 servings.

Heat a cup of water to near boiling. Add a teaspoon of brown sugar a dash of cinnamon and/or nutmeg, a pat of butter and a jigger of rum. If you have 2 DON'T Drive.
