If you haven't started your own Yahoo!360 page I suggest that's a good place to meet lots of new interesting people.
There's even a group set up within Yahoo!360 called Yahoo!360Friends or something and it has thousands of members so far, with more and more joining every day!
I'm sure you'd be able to meet loads of people with similar interests there.
