A couple of corrections here. Presbyterians look at communion as a sacrament, but they do not tie the body and blood of Christ to earthly conditions. They believe in a spiritual presence but it's a mystery & they follow the commandment rather than try to put God into a box.

Baptism in the RC Church involves removal of original sin, Presbyterians also baptize infants but say it's a replacement for OT circumcision.

Presbyterians are Calvinists (God alone is the author and finisher of salvation), and the Catholics lean more toward semi-Pelagianism, God participating with man in salvation.

RC is liturgical. Presbyterians are semi-liturgical meaning the order & style of worship can be flexible, but certain things should contain unity, i.e. forms for baptism & communion.

Both use Apostle's, Nicene, and Athanasian creeds, but Presbyterians do not have devotion to saints, images, or other dogma of the RC Church.

The difference is that Catholicism is full Christianity, as founded by Jesus Christ and as lived by the Apostles and the early Christian (Catholic) Church. The Presbyterian Church, like all Protestant churches, has rejected much of original Christianity, its beliefs, its worship and its practices, replacing them with traditions of men. The difference between Protestant churches come from two sources - (1) as just stated, which elements of original Christianity they have retained and which they have rejected, and (2) which misinterpretations of the Bible each denomination follows (they each have their own, which is why they can't agree on any point of Christian doctrinal belief).

The Catholic Church has a 2,000 year history of continuous unity in belief, teaching and worship. Protestantism, of which Presbyterianism is one small part, has a 500 year history of division, fragmentation and doctrinal chaos. The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ, and as such is a divine institution. All others are human institutions, unauthorized by Christ, and founded by men (or in a few cases women). They have virtually nothing in common except that they each claim their beliefs come straight from the Bible, even though they conflict on every point with the beliefs of the others, who all make exactly the same claim. What ever happened to the stated will of God, "that they all may be ONE, even as thou Father and I are ONE"?

While their both Christian and trinitarian in nature (believe in Father, Son & Holy Spirit), the Catholic Church elivates tradition and the Pope to the same level as scripture; this type of belief bothered the reformers (Luther, Calvin etc.) Therefore they formed new reformed chuches. Due to their protesting of the Catholic Church they were called protestants. Calvin was one of these reformers and he founded the Presbyterian church. The two chuches in question are vastley different in their views on salvation, sovereignity of God, the means of grace and the manifistation of one's faith. In laymens term their theology is like night and day.

The majority of those in the roman"church" are not even of The True Christian Faith. including most all of the popes most likly. While I would give the Presbyterians the same odds as any other "Christian" denomination regarding the number of those who are Truly Saved.... about 50% tops.

No one who only knows the dogma of the roman"church" has the knowledge of The Truth of The Salvation Message... The Truth of The Salvation Message is forbidden to be taught in the Roman "church"... so unless they hear it from someone out side, and accept it, they are not saved and they will not see heaven.

Simply put, Catholism is presbyterian with some additional man-made rules to make it a bit more comfortable and easier to manage (that's a no-no)

Communion is one. Catholics believe that the consegrated elements of communion become the literal blood and body of Jesus and protestants believe the elements are symbolic. Also, men and women are ordained for ministry by the church. Catholics have priests (men). Plus men and women are allowed to serve as elders in ruling the church. Catholics believe in purgatory and protestants do not. Many differences yet many similarities.
