for my knowledge, thee best time to catch MONSTER crappies is in april when the 12 inch father protect its eggs from predators. use a super SMALL greenish flip flop jig; i try other color but green works best in clear water; in dark muddy water use a black flip flop jig

There are two perids to fish for crappie in Texas one is Spring when they are reproducing and the other is right now. They are schooled up on stucture

In the winter when it is cold. Fish in a shallow place with minnows. Remember the colder the better
