Windows XP (If you have it) already has built in support for zipping and unzipping files. Simply right click on a zip file and from the pop up menu select "Open With" then select "Compressed (zipped) Folders".

WinZip began life in the early 1990s as a shareware GUI front-end for PKZIP. Sometime around 1996, the creators of WinZip incorporated. Since they incorporated, Winzip is available as a trial version or for purchase.
Here is a website in the UK that sells file compression software like WinZip: www.interpages.co.uk/pkzipage/

WinZip is software you have to buy but you don't necessarily need it to download and unzip files. If you have MS Windows, you can just download the zip file and open it up and it will still unzip. If you're compressing files though, you may need the software, I'm not sure.

Yes there is a such program called Winzip - http://www.winzip.com/
However I would recommend Winrar - http://filehippo.com/download_winrar/ which is a better alternative and functions very well without any payment.
I would also recommend the freeware program 7-zip - http://filehippo.com/download_7-zip/

WinZip is trial ware (They want you to eventually buy it!) There are lots of FREE programs on the net...just Google them!
XP has an unzipper built in...so I don't use WinZip.

Don't know sorry. Try using winrar better than winzip perhaps you can find that in uk or just use bitcomet and download a cracked version that you don't have to pay for.

I would suggest you look for a program called 7zip, http://www.7-zip.org/ it is completely free.
However if you are using windows XP, windows XP has a zip program built into it already, if you use an item called compressed folders, the compressed folder is actually a zip file.
