We buy our Christmas candy through and employee group at work. Now I have opened a box and see the code on the bottom LAD 352. And another one with a code LAD 27. So I wrote to See's to give me an explanation. It took me 4 emails to get a little information. The LAD 352 has an expiration date of December 17 or this year and the LAD 27 has a expiration date of December also. I just wondered if anyone knows how these codes work. She said they were "julian codes" but when I checked the internet, that explaination didn't seem to jive with what I'm looking at.

I bought around 10 boxes for Christmas, now I don't know what to do. If I want to look at the dates, I have to unwrap the Christmas wrapping. If I don't unwrap them, I might give someone a box of candy that is out of date.

The code they usually put on them is the day they were produced in julian dates, which would be the 27th day of the year and the 352nd day of the year. So the one would of been produced last year and the other one the beginning of this year. Doesn't make sense why would they sell you candy that goes out so soon and that was sitting in the warehouse for so long.

...the other answer was good, I'd call the store and ask why they sold you a candy that is close to expiring???Good luck...
