John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that who so ever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life!

Jesus and the salvation he offers is a gift, because we are forgiven and set free from the penalties of sin, due to his death and resurrection.

WHAT is the greatest gift you have ever received? A gift does not have to be expensive to be important. After all, the true value of a gift is not necessarily measured in terms of money. Rather, when a gift brings you happiness or fills a real need in your life, it has great value to you personally.
Of the many gifts you could ever hope to receive, there is one that stands out above all others. It is a gift from God to mankind. Jehovah has given us many things, but his greatest gift to us is the ransom sacrifice of his Son, Jesus Christ. (Matthew 20:28) Put simply, the ransom is Jehovah’s means to deliver, or save, humankind from sin and death. (Ephesians 1:7)

He died on the cross for our salvation. I think that's a great gift, considering in the pre-existance he volunteered to save us. he suffered all the pain that mankind has ever, and he was spat upon and hated. for our sake. that's a pretty big thing to do, isn't it? Wouldn't it be great to say "Thank you, Jesus, what a present!" living eternally in the celestial kingdom with GOD is what Jesus made possible with His sacrifice. this is one BIG deal! how is He a gift to mankind? one of the members of the GodHead was sacrificed for us. and He was even WILLING! He is God and could have gotten down from the cross whenever He wanted to. He could have died whenever he wanted to. But HE is the one who "gave up the ghost" when His work was finished. All because He loved us! doesn't that make you feel more special? it makes me feel special. you were bought with a price. when you go to a store you say "i'd like to redeem this coupon". well Jesus redeemed us! he "bought us" with his blood! that's a gift that we should be thanking Father for allowing every day. it's special. you're special.

Jesus, if you take Gustave Jung's essay on Job, did not come to save humans. He came to be sacrificed as God's apology to man for tortuing Job. This sacrifice says Jung shows the psychological growth of God from a an allknowing wrathful ignoramus who does not consult his unlimited knowledge, allowing Satan to convince him Job is bad, into a more introspective character who is willing to look inside and not just listen to what people tell him before making up his mind. It is not a view most people know about and would be pretty hard going for those who have not mastered at least the basics of Jung's view of adult development.

Not only did he die to save our souls,
while he was on this earth, weather or not you belive chrisianity, he showed the earth love and compassion. he didn't preach his message. He taught it. He had compassion for the lowest life, he loved even the fowlest murderer. He inspired good hearted nature, and love.

That was how he was our gift.

Jesus, if he existed, is a dead guy. That's not much of a gift.

The people who created a religion around stories about him have done much good and much evil. It's a mixed bag. In total, I think we would have been much better without him. Of course, he really didn't matter. If not him, we would have created stories around someone else. We tend to do that.

Sick monkey's have been enjoying the disgusting sufferage of this poor Fellow for thousands of years. People are, at heart; very savage and this suffering fills the need in many to see someone else get hurt. They lick it up!!!!
