The Bible doesn't explain this, but humans lived hundreds of years until after the flood when their life spans began to more closely resemble ours.

Unbelieving scientists have hypothesized that long ago the earth was surrounded by a heavy mist that watered the earth without rain and created a tropical environment suitable for dinosaurs and other prehistoric life, kept out UV rays, and slowed the aging process. At some point in history this mist or film was pierced, which would have resulted in a heavy rain over many days and clouds and rainfall for a system of watering the earth along with exposure to UV rays and more rapid aging.

Believing scientists call this catastrophic event the great flood that Noah participated in. God pierced the mist and started 40 days and nights of rainfall that covered the whole earth and wiped out all those who did not believe. After the flood, God determined that man would live shorter lives. Some believe this is because when humans lived several hundred years, nearly all fell away from God and turned to doing evil.

Well, science has learned how important telomeres are(they are on the ends of chromosomes and act like the aglets on the end of your shoelaces, keeping the chromosome from falling apart), but in Genesis 6:3, the Bible says, "And the Lord said, "My Spirit shal not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years." " So, personally, I don't think God will allow any man to live past 120 years of age.

In Ezechiel 13- 9--18 it says And God became angry with all of these really old people begating this and begating that so he said let there be diminished or absent telomerase activity so, telomeres will shorten and these jokers will stop getting so old.

Tales and legends are not there to explain things, they are works of fiction written to entertain.

How do you explain that PeterPan could fly ? You dont of course, you just enjoy reading his stories....
