After budgeting for a few months to get my hair done, I went in Saturday. I wanted a hair cut and all over color process. I like getting my hair colored a little dramatic "different" I don't mean with crazy colors. Just your typical browns and blondes. I wanted my underneath to be darker the top to be lighter. You know the popular thing right now. My stylist recommended that we do 3 different shades of brown, with some carmel highlights on top. The colors she showed me really did look different. I trusted her advice. With the cut it would $176. No problem because it was going to be a change for me. My cut turned out horrible, my longer layers I wanted is now one long length underneath and a short curl under top layer. It looks terrible. I can't do a thing with it but pin the top back. My color that took 3 hours, looks no different then the color I walked in with, that I didn't like, because it was brassy and uneven. It's even more brassy. So what would you do if you were me?

Sitting for 3 hours while pregnant isn't an easy thing to do. When she was finished and showed me the end results... she asked me if I liked it...what was I to say? When I got home my husband said, "its like you handed them $200 and said give me the worst cut" he didn't even believe I got it colored he thought I spent that much in products or something. I didn't buy any products. I emailed the stylist, asking what we could do to change the color and go lighter, she's read the email but hasn't wrote me back. I had asked her a few times if you would be able to tell the color difference with the 3 different colors she was using and she said oh yeah, it will be dramatic. Not even close to a change.

Go to the salon and tell them to either give you your money back or have someone who knows what they are doing fix your hair free of charge.

In order to get your hair the right way, I'd go back, especially if I had described to them exactly what I wanted. I've never gone back but I should have more than once. I've seen other people return with problems and the hair dressers seem to be able to work together and fix whatever one of them had done. I know, it's crummy that you have to spend your time to have to have it done right. Everyone makes mistakes. Once I got a perm and the lady forgot to listen for the timer. :( My hair (which is bright red) went out about 6 inches on either side - flat on the top - I looked just like I had a block head. :( I should have complained but I was laughing so hard that I couldn't even talk. It straightened out some after several washings and it was the best look I've ever had but that first part was crazy!! My husband goes back all the time and he says they don't mind and they fix what they have done. Good luck to you!!

my bestfriend just had a similar experience I'm a lot mouthier than she. I told my friend to demand the lady fix her hair. I also told her that she should pay no more than $40-$50 for the repair work, because no one is going to work for free no matter how big a mistake they made the first time. My friend is quiet and she doesn't demand things from people but like you she paid nearly $200 for an awful job. So she had it out with the lady, but long story short she has a beautiful style, it however didn't come without a fight. I always say, closed mouths don't get fed. So speak up and have your say. The worse she could do is refuse, then you just know never to go to her again. Hairstylist don't like to make enemies because they know that women gossip and if word gets out that she sucks she could lose a lot of money

You should have told the stylist immediately that you were not happy with the cut and color. If this is somewhere that you usually go for your haircuts, I'd call the owner of the salon if your stylist won't contact you. The owner should definitely want to make it right. However, you still may be stuck with it. Hair grows. It's may be an expensive lesson, but one that you'll handle differently in the future.

This is why it is so hard to find a stylist that can deliver what it is you desire. Although our hair will "grow out" its our self image and self esteem. It is more than just "hair," you took a risk and gave your trust to the professional to deliver your needs and $176 is not pocket change, that's a lot of money. You made an effort to email her and
she showed no professionalism. You should call in and ask to meet with the owner, so you can go in and receive her consultation for a new hair color and style. I suggest that you go to www.ebeautyzone.com and find a stylist that fits your character and personality.

I definitely think you should go back to the salon and in a polite manner tell her that it is not what you expected and you would like her to change it. I also recommend you take a picture from a magazine or something to show her what you were expecting. Pictures are really helpful. Try to get it done for free or extremely discounted. Good luck.

Thats Happened to me before, I complained, the girl got fired, and the manager ended up fixing my hair the way I wanted it and gave me a refund and free products. This was at Gottschalks in California.

go back and speak to the owner. Do it nicely & reasonably. This way they will be persuaded more to help you.
Let them know that it really wasn't what you wanted and you would like some chages made at no cost. Speak in even tones...
Just don't blow up. If they say no. Tell them that you will report them to the BBB & that you will tell all of your friends & neighbors not to go there...

I would go to the manager of the salon and complain. They will try to fix the problem before giving you any money back. Make sure you complain. Noone deserves to have that happen.
